Spiced Apple Carrot & Dates Smoothie Bowl

 

Here in Australia, chilled mornings are reminding us the winter is just around the corner and summer is now in the past. We are now in Autumn and there is one thing I can never forget since I moved to my second motherland, Australia – seasonal produce!! Yes we all love them, don’t we? Crates in farmers markets are overflowing with fresh apples and root vegetables these days so why should not combine these two into a smoothie bowl with wintery spices? I thoroughly enjoy my smoothie bowls on weekends but ice-cold smoothie on a chilly morning does not sound very appetizing. So, I skipped frozen fruits for this smoothie & served at room temperature, making it a perfect Autumn/ Winter breakfast packed with flavour and nutrients.

 

 

Ingredients (serves 1);
1 Granny Smith apple
1 carrot (parboiled and let it cool)
6 -8 dates
1 avocado
3 tbsp coconut yoghurt
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp Goji berry powder
60ml plant based milk

Toppings;
Anything you like, but here I have used
Roasted coconut flakes
Superfood mix (nuts & seeds)
Kiwi
Dried goji berries
Chia seeds

Simply add all the ingredients into a smoothie maker, blend together and pour into a bowl. Top with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
